TAKING CARE OF THE DOG’S HAIR:
- This is a quite hard work and must be done regularly (1-2 times per day). Because Golden dogs run, jump and play a lot, their hair which is long and thick need usually combing and unraveling.
- Bathing your dog every month is very essential. After being bathed, your Golden should have his hair quickly dried; because his hair is thick, it takes a long time to dry naturally. That his hair is wet for a long time can cause him to have a bad cold or mold.

MEAL AND NUTRITION DIET:
The Golden is a kind of working dog, so they are not fussy about eating at all; on the other hand, they are very voracious. They eat a lot and they are easy to feed. However, besides providing them with sufficient nutrition, you need to feed them properly to avoid obesity. The proper daily amount of food for a Golden dog is from 2.8 to 3.5% of his total weight. The small dogs will need more food than the big dogs; similarly, the dogs which work, run and jump a lot need more food than the Golden ones who work less.
Nutritional ingredients in Golden dogs’ s daily diet needs to have 22-28% protein which is from meat (beef, pork, chicken, fish), or eggs, viscera (liver, lung, intestine, heart, kidney, brain). And 10-16% is fat, which is usually enough in natural fresh meat or fresh viscera; or if the meat is too lean, you can additionally feed your dog cod-liver oil, fish fat, chicken fat or butter. Don’t feed your dog these foods directly but fry them with other kinds of food. The rest percentage is divided for vitamin, fiber and starch which can be found in fruit, bulbs, vegetables, rice, rice soup, biscuits and potatoes.
