It is very common for the little dogs to be obstreperous, mischievous and disturbing, so the training preparation for these dogs is very difficult. And this is not only shown at little puppies but also at the mature dogs. Because they are not taught “Learning doesn’t parallel to playing”, they are always obstreperous. So, how can we solve it?
We recommends some the following solutions:
Step 1: Put your dog’s favorite food into the chase and call your dog. At this time, maybe your dog is very excited to run and jump and try his best to compete for the food.
Step 2: Absolutely don’t feed your dog when he is still not “quiet”. Command “keep quiet” (or “be stationary”…) and don’t allow your dog to gambol. When your dog standstills for about 4 seconds, give him food (only give your dog a small amount of food in case he is full, which is difficult to control).
*If using Clicker, push instead of commanding.
Step 3: Repeat step 2 many times until your dog is calm and quiet; at this time, don’t keep your dog by hands, but command (or push the Clicker). When your dog is calm and doesn’t gambol anymore, give him food and praise him immediately.
Practice step 3 many times and each repeating time lengthens the time that your dog can keep quiet. Whenever your dog is well-done, give him food right then and praise him.
=>Attention: Don’t give your dog food before he can keep quiet; and if you use Clicker to train, push the Clicker after your dog can finish the task, which can help him to be more obedient and patient to be given food.
You can apply this way to train some postures, such as:sit, stand, lie stillfor dogs by changing the command: “sit still”, “lie still”,… It is the best to use the as short and decisive as possible words
